Best Mac Prices (“we”, “us”) is a price comparison site for Apple products, operated by Fractional Xperience, doing business as Best Mac Prices. This policy explains what we do with information when you use bestmacprices.com.
When you click a link to a retailer, we write one record to our database so that the referral can be attributed to us. That record contains:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A random session identifier | Groups clicks made during a single visit. It is generated fresh each time a page loads, is not stored on your device, and cannot connect one visit to another or identify you. |
| Which retailer and product you clicked | Commission attribution and knowing which listings are useful. |
| The link that was followed | Verifying the correct destination was sent. |
| The date and time | Matching our records against retailer reports. |
That is the whole record. It contains no name, no email address, no IP address, no device fingerprint and nothing that persists on your computer, so we have no way to connect it to you as a person.
If you switch between USD and CAD, we save that choice in your browser’s
local storage under bmp_currency so the site remembers it
next time. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. See
our Cookies & Local Storage page for how to
clear it.
We do not collect or store your name, email address, postal address, phone number, payment details or IP address. We do not use cookies, analytics services, advertising networks, social media pixels, session recording or any form of cross-site tracking. The site loads no third-party scripts.
Clicking through to a retailer such as Amazon, B&H Photo, Apple or Best Buy takes you to their website, where their privacy policy applies instead of ours. Those retailers typically set their own cookies to credit the referral, and they decide what those cookies do and how long they last. We have no access to or control over them, and we do not receive information about what you browse or buy once you arrive beyond aggregate commission reports that do not identify individual customers.
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts the database holding our product, price and click-record data. |
| Cloudflare | Hosts and delivers the website. Like any web host, it processes connection information, including your IP address, in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. We do not receive or retain that information. |
We keep click records indefinitely, and we are choosing to: they are how we reconcile referrals against the commission reports retailers send us, which can arrive long after the click.
What makes that reasonable is what the records do not contain. There is no name, no email address, no IP address, and no identifier that persists on your device or ties one visit to another. Keeping them builds no picture of you over time, because there is nothing in them to build one from.
This section covers the United States and Canada, where we operate.
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Canadian residents have the right to ask what personal information we hold, to access it, to challenge its accuracy, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
A practical note on both: because we collect nothing that identifies you and set nothing persistent on your device, we genuinely cannot find “your’ records to show or delete. That is a deliberate design choice rather than an evasion. If you contact us we will explain what exists and help however we can.
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted prominently.
Questions about this policy or about privacy generally can be sent to [email protected].
